Statewide Non-Profit to Host Golf Tournament in Las Cruces
Proceeds will benefit, strengthen Help New Mexico’s programming
(Las Cruces, N.M.) Help New Mexico, a nonprofit dedicated to creating self-sufficiency and promoting economic opportunities to strengthen families throughout the state, will be hosting its inaugural Southern New Mexico Golf Classic on May 6 at New Mexico State University Golf Course.
“Our goal is to raise $25,000,” said Michael Gutierrez, CEO of Help New Mexico. “We provide so many essential services to New Mexicans, and proceeds from the Golf Classic will be integral to that.”
Among the services provided by Help New Mexico are adult education, job training, early childhood development and education, youth development and care, self-help housing construction, rural health clinics, land development, job placement, literacy training, affordable housing, nutritious meals, and family counseling.
Help New Mexico has provided these and many other services to nearly one million New Mexicans over the past 51 years. Target populations include migrant families, self-employed farmers and ranchers, low-income families, abused and neglected children, seniors, people with disabilities, and disadvantaged youth.
“In order to meet our financial goal, we are asking for local businesses and individuals to consider participating as sponsor,” Gutierrez said.
There are several levels of sponsorship available, ranging from $250 to $2,500.
Early registration, available until April 28, is recommended. For more information about the tournament, including questions relating to sponsorship levels, contact Cary Hamilton at (575) 520-4204.
