GLORIA LOPEZ
VICE PRESIDENT, OFFICE OF LEARNING & ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITY

Gloria M. Lopez serves as Vice-President for HELP-New Mexico, Inc. Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity and has 26 years of experience in Head Start and in Early Childhood Education. She provides leadership and supervision for approximately 130 staff members, whose primary focus is to implement high quality education for young children and self-sufficiency for families.

Ms. Lopez earned a Bachelors of Art from Cal State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, California in Spanish with a minor in Mexican-American Studies with an endorsement in Elementary Education. She has 38 credits in Early Childhood Education from New Mexico State University, as well as eight credits in graduate studies. She has experience in providing training and seminars in various areas such as early childhood and education, parent engagement, program governance, management, and leadership development and advocacy.

Civic affiliations and memberships consist of New Mexico Head Start Association, Region VI Head Start Association, New Mexico Association for the Education of Young Children, Luna County Early Childhood Coalition and Deming Cesar Chavez Charter High School.  She is also a 2003 fellow from the Head Start Johnson & Johnson Management Program at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a former Office of Head Start Federal Peer Reviewer. She is dedicated and committed to advocating on behalf of children and families at the local, state and national levels.

ANNALIZA GOURNEAU
VICE PRESIDENT, OFFICE OF STRATEGY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Annaliza Gourneau, HELPNM Vice President of Strategy and Community Engagement, encompasses strategic perspectives and innovations in leadership development, program delivery of services and continuous quality improvement. A lifetime member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, she participates in local and international service events and provides a multi-faceted approach to success for improvement of economic opportunities of people and community.

She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Education – Summa Cum Laude, an earned Master of Education from the University of North Dakota and is working on her PhD. She has over 24 years of non-profit and public relations experience in management, grant writing and grant seeking for education, economic development and infrastructure, development and implementation of strategies and methodologies that reap successful outcomes.

Past experience includes appointments as Vice Chair Commissioner for the Mesilla Valley Public Housing Authority Board, member of SUCCESS Partnership- an educational initiative comprised of over 100 individuals and organizations; and has served on the Juvenile Justice Continuum Board- one of twenty regional boards across New Mexico that maintain a continuum of services for prevention of delinquency for juveniles in local communities.

She currently serves on the board of MANA de Albuquerque as Vice President for Fund Development, where she empowers Latinas, young and old, through education, leadership development, community service and advocacy. Her current focus with HELPNM is on addressing antipoverty issues and developing innovative initiatives to better serve the New Mexico communities.
